Steps for booking a cover band

When it comes to make a decision about booking a coverband for your wedding or function, there are a few things to look out for.

1. Have you seen them before or just heard audio? Seeing a band in action gives you a much better picture of how they perform. Selecta provide viewing opportunities prior to booking the big event. Stay tuned for video on our website.

2. When booking a venue have you considered the size of room allocated, is it enough to fit a band as well as guests?

3. Have you considered the room sound? Does it have walls of glass? A concrete floor? A tin roof? All these can effect the sound.

4. Where is the stage location, will it be really close to tables and not the dance floor?

5. Is there easy access to the dance floor?

6. Do you have your wedding march song chosen?

7. Will you provide your backing music? Selecta has a rang of songs on ipod to use between sets and eating stages.

8. Have you allowed enough time for specific songs to be performed by the band. Please allow 2-3 months for Selecta to learn a couple of specific required songs for your big day.

9. Have you looked at access to venue, Is there easy access to get gear in out?

10. If it's double or multi floor story, is there lift access?

11. Have you asked about power access for the band? One power point will not be enough to power a 5 piece band plus lights. 3 phase setups are usually ideal for Selecta.

12. Do you have another contact on the big day for the band to liaise with? As the bride and groom is usually busy, it's a lot easier for the band to discuss any changes/requirements with another contact allocated.
